Who We Are and What We Do

The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate established the OIP Investment Trust to manage the long term financial assets of the Oblate Congregation including its constituent provinces and delegations, Roman Catholic related organizations, ministries, religious orders and dioceses. It is a recognized nonprofit tax exempt trust domiciled in the United States. It currently serves over 200 Roman Catholic related entities.

The OIP invests in a portfolio:

  • Diversified geographically including the emerging and frontier markets
  • Diversified by asset class including both liquid and illiquid equity, fixed income and real estate
  • Structured to provide protection in declining markets yet capture a significant part of the gain in positive markets

History

The fund was started in 1991 with an initial investment of $20M from the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. In 1999 the OIP Investment Trust was formed in the US as a 501(c)(3) not for profit charitable religious trust.

At the onset, the fund invested primarily in fixed income securities domiciled in Canada and Germany, but has evolved. Today the OIP Investment Trust offers a globally diversified fund investing in over 80 countries across multiple asset classes including both liquid and illiquid assets.

Mission

The mission of the OIP Investment Trust is to provide professional faith consistent investment management of the financial resources of Roman Catholic related organizations including, but not limited to, dioceses, religious orders, and ministries.
